Katherine has worked for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) for 22 years and held multiple executive positions, including the Chief of Science and Technology, the Chief of the Cyber Center, Chief of Counter Terrorism, and the Deputy Director General Operations CSIS Toronto Region (TR).
In her current role as Regional Director General CSIS TR she manages a multi-dimensional team and all national security investigations in CSIS’s largest region. The Toronto region covers from Kingston to Manitoba, North to Georgian Bay and South to the US border. Her team is responsible for this area and the 11.3 million Canadians that reside here.
At the Best Defence 2021 conference Katherine will discuss the risks around Canadian technology leaving Canada as well the partnering of Canadian companies with foreign investors/corporations.
This is a question of balancing security with prosperity, encouraging the growth and development of Canadian industry well at the same time weighing that against the risks posed to Canadians, Canada and the corporations.
